BETHLEHEM,
PA—The National Association of Colleges
and Employers (NACE) is developing professional standards for university
relations and recruiting.
The project, under way
since July 2012 through the NACE Foundation, will provide university relations
and recruiting professionals with standards that encompass practices for a
sound program, necessary experiences for program managers and recruiters, and
ways to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of the university relations and
recruiting function.
“The standards will give
university recruiting professionals a road map to recruiting excellence. Organizations
that are engaged or want to engage in university recruiting will now have clear
direction for achieving results,” says Marilyn Mackes, NACE executive director.
The standards will be
supported with quantifiable metrics and qualitative measures to enable
university recruiting professionals to gauge whether a standard has been met
and to what degree.
NACE expects to unveil
the standards at its annual conference in June 2013.
