The NACE Foundation funded the development of the Career Decision Pyramid, by Dr. Neil Murray, formerly the director of the career center at the University of California, San Diego. The tool is now available.
The Career Decision Pyramid is an easy-to-use career development tool for career centers, helping them better serve those who need to identify a career goal. The Pyramid quickly and effectively permits the client to do all of the following:
- Correctly locate and articulate a personal level of career ambiguity/clarity along an all-encompassing continuum from virtually wide open to nearly decided;
- Identify the best corresponding method to obtain career information, in accordance with the indicated level of career ambiguity/clarity;
- Become aware of the services and resources recommended and/or provided by their career center that match the chosen and corresponding method of obtaining career information; and,
- Gain understanding about applicable services and resources—description, procedures, etc.
