To engage high school students in early career planning, Coker and the Career Planning and Placement Services staff at Tyler Junior College developed a booklet that introduces them to the world of work.
From accounting to social work, the Hot Jobs Viewbook provides overviews of various fields, including information on the training necessary to obtain jobs, types of positions, salary ranges, and suggested subjects students can take to prepare for particular careers.
The Viewbook allows students to compare and contrast different positions and fields of study, helps them to determine which careers are in demand, and provides information on experiential education.

Arthur Andersen LLP
To reposition its corporate brand as bold, maverick, and youthful, Arthur Andersen created a new recruitment package, which is distributed to college students (usually in accounting, finance, business, or technology) at company presentations, career fairs, and in response to information requests.
The package consists of four four-color booklets: one of inspirational quotes; one on success and company values; another outlining compensation, benefits, and professional development opportunities, and a booklet to help students determine where they might fit within the organization.

The Toilet Paper
Walsh University
The Toilet Paper, developed by Doak and the Walsh University Career Services staff, is a single-page monthly newsletter designed to increase student awareness of career center programming and services, experiential education opportunities, and on-campus recruiting schedules.
The publication, posted on the back of all campus restroom doors, targets a captive audience and has generated an increase in program attendance and office traffic by 300 percent.

Albuquerque Technical Vocational Institute (TVI) Community College, New
Mexico
TVI Community College developed this CD-ROM to help students and graduates conduct a job search, begin or advance their careers, and/or make a job or career change. The CD-ROM features job search, resume, and interview modules, plus a glossary of terms and extensive resource listings. It also can be used as a 24/7 student resource and classroom tool.

American Institute of CPAs (AICPA)
Set to the rock-and-roll song of the same name, Takin Care of Business combines humor and animation with real-life profiles to inform high school and college students of opportunities in the field of accounting.
The video features five young CPAs in positions ranging from an FBI Special Agent to Controller of the New York Jets.

The Cultural Diversity Reception
University of Florida
The Career Resource Center (CRC) at the University of Florida launched the Cultural Diversity Reception to bring together diverse student groups and employers in conjunction with the schools all-majors career fair.
The reception provides students with an opportunity to meet with prospective employers and serves as a venue for employers to connect with a diverse candidate pool.

Applied Industrial Technologies - COMET
Applied Industrial Technologies
COMET (Career Opportunity and Management Employment Training), a 10-month program, was developed by Applied Industrial Technologies as a fast-track training program to build a pool of future leaders, recruit and retain more college graduates, and formulate a career network.
During the first seven months of the program, participants concentrate on industry and personal development, and visit various vendor manufacturing sites for a firsthand look at the companys products. The final three months center on learning every aspect of sales and operations. Retention of those who have completed the COMET training is 74 percent.

Since its inception in 1994, the ECAC web site has evolved into a comprehensive site for students and employers, featuring an online recruiting calendar; job-search articles and assistance; links to employer web sites and other job-search sites; information about programs, orientations, and workshops; salary surveys, student and employer manuals, and continuously updated career center information.
Students also can customize the site to create resumes, preselect companies, track their preselection status, and schedule interviews.

This web site challenges visitors to test themselves in four interactive cases that each address a fundamental dilemma facing e-business today. The cases are actual project experiences of consultants that provide visitors with decision making opportunities and allow them to share their thinking on business issues.
Cap Gemini Ernst & Young evaluates visitor responses for creativity, insightfulness, and analytical ability to identify recruitment prospects prior to the beginning of its traditional recruiting season.
