NACE EXCELLENCE AWARDS
The NACE Excellence Awards recognize outstanding professional contributions in three categories:
- Advancement of the vision and future of NACE,
- Advancement of the career services and HR/staffing professions, and
- Best practices or programs.
Eligibility:
Excellence awards may be given to an individual or a group of individuals.
The individual(s) receiving these awards must be a member(s) of NACE and
must have made notable contributions with distinguished achievement to
the association or the profession during the previous year.
Selection:
A committee of professionals screens entries. There can be multiple college
and employer awards in a year.
Recognition:
Each winner (or winning group) will receive a plaque and publicity in
Spotlight Online, in the NACE Journal, and on NACEWeb. Winners
will be recognized at the NACE National Meeting.
Advancement of the Vision and Future of NACE
Purpose:
The Excellence Award of the Vision and Future of NACE was established
to recognize NACE members for their foresight and unlimited efforts in
the establishment, development, and growth of the National Association
of Colleges and Employers.
Criteria:
Individuals must have contributed in one or more of the following ways:
- Developed significant program(s) to move the association forward.
- Held volunteer leadership role(s) in the association for a significant number of years.
- Contributed in an innovative way to the professional development of the field.
- Represented the association in an exemplary manner to other similar or related organizations/associations.
Entries will be judged on:
- Innovation
- Results
- Contribution
- Success of project
- Measured impact
- Significance
- Long-term impact
Submittal Process:
Any individual may nominate a colleague or support a nomination. Board
members are encouraged to recognize committee and task force members who
made a significant contribution to the work of their group. Please use
the online form.
Advancement of the Profession
Purpose:
This award recognizes an exceptional contribution in the profession of
career planning and/or recruiting.
Criteria:
This award recognizes the programs and innovations that go above and beyond
the profession's standards in aiding a student in his or her career development
or developing an effective college relations program.
Entries are judged on:
- Impact
- Innovation
- Creativity
- Originality
- Usefulness
- Credibility
- Ease of replication
- Scope
Submittal Process:
Any individual, except a member of the selection committee for the award,
may nominate or support a nomination. Please use the online
form.
Best Practice or Program
Purpose:
The NACE Excellence Award acknowledges the best college or employer program
or best practice in each category.
Categories:
- Information Resources for Students recognizes the best information/resources on career development or employment topics. The information/resource must be targeted to and distributed to college students free of charge. (College entries must have been developed for use at their specific institutions.)
- Educational Programming recognizes the best educational programs related to career development or employment and targeted to students or career center/college recruiting staff. The program can be delivered via workshop or self-study (print, video, CD-ROM, or web). Examples of the type of educational programs to submit include new-hire orientation programs, recruiter training programs, career development or job-search workshops, peer career counseling programs, credit and non-credit career classes, internship programs, ambassador programs.

- Effectiveness in marketing to and engaging target audience
