This award recognizes one individual each year who has demonstrated strong leadership potential and contributions to the career services profession and NACE organization. The award is designed to both recognize and further the recipient’s professional development activities.
A $1,500 award will be given to an outstanding NACE member who has four to seven years of professional experience in career services.
The winner will be presented with his or her award at NACE’s Annual Conference in New Orleans in May.
Eligibility and Selection Criteria
College career services practitioners who are members of NACE and who have been employed in a full-time position in career services for four to seven years are eligible to participate. Entries will be judged on the following criteria:
- Demonstrated strong leadership potential through institutional work and/or professional association work
- Demonstrated contributions to the career services profession and/or NACE organization.
- Innovative activities that advance the career services profession. Examples of appropriate activities might include: leading a significant change process, supporting professional development of individuals in the field through contribution of best practice(s), facilitating in-service training within a departmental, institutional, or organizational environment; sharing research, knowledge, or direct experience as a presenter or program facilitator at professional conferences, through consulting visits, and/or as an author of one or more professional article(s), position paper(s), or other publication(s).
- Significant contribution to his or her office and campus
