Yahoo to Youtube: Bridging the Internet Generation Gap

Presenter: Edward Free, University of California – Berkeley
Track: Technology
5/28 1 p.m. Room 231

The information superhighway has dramatically changed and generation gaps have developed in how information is presented to and received by its audience. Where the Yahoo generation is content with search engines that find lists of information, the Youtube generation requires more. This generation has grown up with the world wide web, game consoles, and video-on-demand. They require "info-tainment" and 24/7 access to keep them engaged. This workshop will demonstrate the process and tools to incorporate video, audio, PowerPoint, and animated computer screen captures to create video for various media products including web cast, ipod video, and compact disc. If you can create PowerPoint slides, you can use these simple tools to take the next step up with your media presence.
