Transitioning University Information Skills Into the Workplace
Description:
How is information used in the workplace? And does this differ from a university setting? When helping students’ career readiness and their transition from study to work, this is a key question. Focusing on one UK-based insurance firm and students within one UK university, our qualitative research examined the disconnect between these settings. Findings will be presented, along with a publicly available tool created to support and facilitate the transition of information literacies from higher education into employment. The project also acts as a case-study of research collaboration between academic and careers departments within a university.
