    According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, millennials are projected to be the largest generation in the work force as of 2016. Not far behind them is Generation Z, who by 2020, will account for 40% of all consumers. Millennials and Generation Z share a different perspective and skill set than previous generations due to an almost infinite number of resources available to them. Learn best practices and strategies for working with millennials and Generation Z currently in college and for millennials already in the work force. You will receive a 360-degree view into this topic from career services and university relations and recruiting thought leaders, who bring first-hand experience in both advising and hiring millennial and Generation Z students. Explore questions asked and lessons learned from others in your field as you and your colleagues share your experiences.

    Following this program, you will be able to:

    • Expand skills needed to prepare and advise millennial and Generation Z students throughout their career searches;
    • Apply helpful strategies that have been used successfully when working with millennials in the workplace; and
    • Identify research and information that supports the importance of generational diversity in the workplace.

    A new video chat feature makes this one-hour webinar a truly interactive presentation. Presenters will provide their knowledge on a given scenario for 30-minutes followed by a 30-minute engagement period by the audience. This time will allow participants to ask questions of the presenters and share viewpoints with their peers. Participants may be asked to contribute opinions or feedback via live chat, virtual polling, and other mechanisms.
    Norma Guerra Gaier

    Norma Guerra Gaier, Director of Career Services, Texas State University

    Norma Guerra Gaier has worked in the career development field at both private and public institutions for more than 25 years. In addition to her extensive experience in career services, she has led efforts in law school career services, alumni relations, adult education career development, civic engagement, leadership initiatives and service learning. Currently, she serves as the Director of Career Services at Texas State University.

    This year, Norma serves on the NACE Board of Directors as Vice President – College. In addition, she enjoys serving as a NACE mentor, presenting at conferences, and she remains active in various committees. Her committee interests and involvements include Principles for Professional Practice Committee, Advocacy Committee, Finance and Audit Committee, and Career Readiness Competencies Model Team to name a few.

    She has also been active in various leadership positions within her region, state and locally, and is a proud past-president of the Southern Association of Colleges and Employers (SoACE), the Texas Association of Employment in Education (TAEE) and the San Antonio Colleges and Universities Career Centers Association (SACUCCA). She has also served as an Expert Reviewer for the CAS Standards for Career Services.

    Grace Kiem

    Grace Kiem, College Relations Program Director, Fidelity Investments

    Grace Kiem has worked at Fidelity Investments for the past ten years. Currently, she is part of a human resources leadership development program – General Management Apprenticeship Program at Fidelity. In her previous role, she was responsible for leading the university relations team. She helped to drive campus strategy & provide subject matter expertise in college recruitment trends for business groups including the development of target schools, student profiles and planning & execution. She currently is co-chairing the honors and awards committee at the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE).
