NACE accepts digital files if you cannot provide a PDF.

Proofs required for PDF and digital formats.

NACE can also format profiles for you.

NACE cannot return disks or CDs.


PDF - Guidelines

  • PDF files may be sent to NACE through the following:
  • To create the PDF file, use Acrobat Distiller 8.0 or lower (PDF documents created with PDFwriter cannot be processed).

    Detailed guidelines for PDF files (Please follow specifications carefully.)

    • PDF files must be created using Acrobat Distiller 8.0 or lower. No other program or version is acceptable.

    • Fonts
      Use Type 1 Postscript fonts only and embed fonts in your PDF.
      (Truetype, Multiple Master, Type 3, Compact, and other fonts cannot be processed.)

    • Images
      Use high-resolution images only and embed images in your PDF. Resolution should be 300 dpi. Images may be saved as TIF or EPS. We cannot accept JPEG images.

    • Color (B/W only)
      Color must be in CMYK format (Tip: Check your Quark or InDesign document to ensure that all color is in CMYK format before creating the PDF file.) Black and white images should be saved as gray scale.

    • Size
      Full-page PDF documents must be created exactly 1 inch larger than the height and width of the trim size of the magazine. This can be accomplished by creating the postscript at this size. For a full page in Job Choices, your PDF document should be 9" x 11.5".

    • Crop Marks
      Your PDF file should show crop marks and bleeds. Crop marks should appear outside the trim area.

    • PDF Proof Required
      • For 4-color files: SWOP acceptable digital color proof generated from the final file.

      • For black and white files: A laser proof generated from the final file.

  • Displays

    Profiles - NACE Formatted

    Submitting your profile is as easy as 1-2-3

    1. At your request, NACE staff will format and lay out your profile in our standard two-column format, with your logo placed in the upper left-hand corner. Just send us your copy on a PC formatted disk accompanied by a printed hard copy. Copy for a full page should be about 500 words, about 225 words for a half page, or about 125 words for a quarter page. Or, e-mail your copy in a Word document.

      Copy for quarter-page profiles should be submitted via the online Profile Form.
    1. Provide a black and white digital file of your company logo by mail or e-mail as a TIF or EPS formatted file (300 dpi). If applicable, you may provide a black and white chart/map in a digital file. (Please note: Photographs and other graphics are not acceptable.)

    2. Send your disk and hard copy plus your logo to:

      Hard copy may also be faxed to 610/868-0208. NACE will send you a pre-press proof of your profile if you provide all necessary materials by April 15, 2005.
