Students Look to Career Center for Resume Help, Job-Search Assistance, Job Listings

Spotlight for Career Services Professionals
June 20, 2012

More than three-quarters of responding seniors (76.5 percent) said they used the career center during their senior year, according to results of NACE’s 2012 Student Survey, and most sought resume help, job-search assistance, and access to job listings.

Help in crafting a resume was the most popular service, tapped by approximately 87 percent of seniors using the career center, followed by overall assistance with the job search (80 percent), and job listings (80 percent). In fact, the career center website and the organization’s website are the primary sources of job listings.

NACE's 2012 Student Survey was conducted mid-January through April 30, 2012. Nearly 48,000 college students nationwide, including 15,715 seniors at the bachelor’s degree level, took part in the survey. A report based on results from graduating seniors will be available this summer.
