How frequently will you reassess your organization’s hiring needs this year? If you plan to do so frequently, you will have company amongst your peers. The largest groups of respondents to NACE’s Job Outlook 2012 survey will reassess their hiring needs quarterly (43.8 percent) or monthly (30.9 percent). Other respondents plan to do so annually (12.4 percent), weekly (5.2 percent), or on some other schedule (7.7 percent).
Employers also divulged their plans for spring recruiting. Respondents plan to conduct 35 percent of their recruiting in spring 2012; slightly more than 65 percent of them have firm plans (34.4 percent) or tentative plans (31.8 percent) in place. Among the remaining respondents, 18.2 percent indicated they do all of their recruiting in the fall, 15.1 percent are unsure of their plans for the spring, and just 0.5 percent said they are not hiring.
