Spotlight Online for Employment and Recruiting Professionals, October 27, 2010
The average number of full-time college recruiting staff has grown, according to results of NACE’s 2010 Recruiting Benchmarks Survey.
Among respondents with a formal recruiting program, the average number of staff is 7.7—up from 5.9 a year ago. This represents a continuing trend to expand the number of individuals involved in college recruiting operations.
Average salaries also grew substantially for many in college recruiting, including recruiters (up 6 percent) and coordinators (up 5.3 percent). Director-level professionals saw a more modest increase (approximately 3 percent). On average, managers actually lost ground salary-wise, backpedaling approximately 1 percent. Results indicate that salary has little to do with the size of the organization and much more to do with the level of experience. The higher the level of experience, the higher the average salary, regardless of the size of the organization.
NACE’s 2010 Recruiting Benchmarks Survey was conducted June 15 through August 15, 2010; 268 employer members, or 31 percent, took part.
