Preliminary responses to NACE’s 2010 Internship Survey suggest employers plan to bring in more interns this year than they did last year, but how do employers target schools at which to find their interns?
Not surprisingly, and consistent with results from the 2009 survey, employers are most likely to look first at their experience at the school when deciding whether or not to put it on their roster for intern hiring. Other criteria used in selecting schools include the:
- Academic majors offered at the school
- Quality of the school’s programs
- Location of the school
- Success of the school’s alumni within the organization
More than 230 employers took part in the survey, which ran January 11 through February 26. Additional results will be reported in Spotlight Online, and the survey report will be available this spring.
