Pers Dev Series: Benefit of Enrichment Fridays

  • Fee: FREE (member); $119 (nonmember);

Summary

Many organizations lack funding to provide personal enrichment and traditional professional development (i.e. sending employees to conferences). The University of North Texas (UNT) Career Center has been successful by providing fun and collaborative personal enrichment and professional development opportunities for the staff through Enrichment Fridays.

Enrichment Fridays are a half-day or full-day experience that provides field staff the opportunity to come out of the field, get some training, and have fun. When adopted by the UNT Career Center, it was pitched as a one-hour session each Friday for any staff to step away from the desk and decompress with some fun, exciting activities and presentations. This webinar will explore how Enrichment Fridays was instituted, accepted, and evaluated, and how it can be successful at your place of work.

Following this program, you will be able to:

  • Examine the need for and feasibility of adopting Enrichment Fridays at your workplace;
  • Evaluate and modify your Enrichment Friday program to ensure success; and
  • Design an Enrichment Friday program that meets the needs of your workplace.

Presenter: Bonita Vinson, Director, Career Center, University of North Texas
