SUBJECT:Four Top-Hiring Industries for Class of 2013 Graduates Remain Unchanged

BETHLEHEM, PA—The four top-hiring industries for Class of 2013 bachelor’s degree graduates remain the same as those in previous reports for this class, according to results of a survey recently conducted by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE).

Just like NACE’s September 2013 and April 2013 Salary Survey, the January 2014 Salary Survey—the final report on starting salaries for the college Class of 2013—found that educational services; professional, scientific, and technical services; healthcare and social assistance; and federal, state, and local government are the top-hiring industries for Class of 2013 grads. (See Figure 1.)

Other top-hiring industries for this class are manufacturing, finance and insurance, information, management of companies and enterprises, wholesale trade, and other services (except federal, state, and local government).

An executive summary of the January 2014 Salary Survey report is available at www.naceweb.org/salary-resources/salary-survey.aspx.
