Reinvigorate Your Career Course Through Employer Engagement and a Distance Learning Format
Description:
In this session, attendees will learn about creating a job-search preparation course for undergraduate students that ventures away from the traditional lecture-style format in favor of using company representatives to teach the content. Participants will learn effective strategies for coordinating a career course where employer engagement and networking is an integral component of the class. Participants will also hear about how this in-person job-search course was converted to a 100 percent distance learning format. Career services professionals used the concepts of backward design and developing learning outcomes to keep students engaged throughout the course.
