How to Build an Intern Council: Gaining Business and Stakeholder Buy-In
Description:
When recruiting for internship opportunities, common barriers to creating a scalable program are timely decisions on demand, skillsets, and team placement. By creating an intern council comprised of leaders across organizations, Cerner has gained executive buy-in on the structure and support of talent development initiatives. In this session, we’ll spend time dissecting how to leverage and engage internal stakeholders throughout the intern recruitment and summer program. We’ll discuss innovative ways to select and approve intern placements to ensure meaningful and impactful experiences. We’ll also dive into intern manager expectations and training, a recent implementation where we’ve seen immediate impact.
