Infusing Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity Into Your Career Center
Description:
The purpose of this presentation is to offer a how-to guide to infuse diversity and inclusion into current practices. The presenters will provide a historical account regarding the inception of a diversity and inclusion committee at the University of Connecticut and highlight past and current initiatives. Current initiatives include staff training on diversity- and inclusion-related topics, incorporating the use of pronouns in day-to-day operations, and engaging employers in student-facing events. In addition, we will offer suggestions for jumpstarting similar initiatives at attendees’ institutions as well as provide a space for brainstorming and collaboration amongst audience members.
