Autism Goes to Work: Empowering Neurodiverse Individuals in Their Quest for Employment
Description:
While entering the job market is an intimidating prospect for any college student, students with autism face additional barriers to employment, and an unemployment rate of 85 percent. Embracing a strengths-based approach, we will provide tools for working with individuals on the autism spectrum and will help you to educate businesses of the benefits of employing a neurodiverse work force. Attendees will walk away with a greater understanding of the autistic mind, tools and strategies they can take back to their campus community and, finally, ideas on employer outreach and education.
