College to Career: Why Credit-Bearing Classes Positively Impact Gen Z
Description:
Early and intentional engagement through credit-bearing career development classes creates higher success rates for students and levels the playing field for those who complete these courses in-person online. At Wake Forest, students who complete at least one of five credit-bearing career development courses have increased numbers of applications, more interactions with coaches, and higher reported salaries associated with first destinations. In this program, a faculty member and a college recruiter explain how these classes impact students, improve career readiness, influence the career development ecosystem on campus, and increase equity for all students.
