Work Visa Options for International Students: Immigration Made Easy
Description:
This session is designed to help employers and career services professionals understand the common work visas that allow U.S. employers to hire international student who are graduating from U.S. universities. During the Trump administration, the U.S. government issued a flurry of regulations and order that impacted the hiring of foreign nationals by U.S. companies, including those wishing to hire international students graduating from US universities. The new Biden administration is working to address many of these policies, including rescinding some, delaying others, and evaluating still others for further action. As a result, employers and career services professionals are understandably confused about the visa options and processes that allow U.S. companies to hire international students. This session will explain some of the most common issues related to the hiring of international students, focusing on the popular H1B work visa and the new "pre-registration" process for the H1B lottery.
