Career Readiness for All: Supporting Students With Disabilities
Description:
Learn how a career center leveraged multiple resources to create employment-based programming for students with disabilities. Participants will learn disability hiring trends and common barriers people with disabilities face and leave with methods to better support this niche student population. Learning Objectives: Leave with department programming event and workshop ideas that promote disability inclusion and increased awareness of disability employment rights. Identify departments, organizations, and resources to partner with on and off campus to build disability diversity and inclusion in programming and service delivery. Learn about trends in disability hiring and common barriers to people with disabilities finding employment as well as methods to help counter the trends and overcome barriers.
