Indigenous Career Futures: Breaking Barriers and Building Bridges
Description:
In this session we will share our story about how people from a variety of departments committed to the common goal of creating brighter futures for Indigenous people. Afterward, our hope is that your organization will be inspired to do the same. This model can easily be recreated to develop a wrap-around approach to career services for any population. Learning Objectives: Modify approaches to career readiness to be more welcoming for Indigenous students. Review current systems for barriers based on cultural differences. Identify potential stakeholders in your organization and develop strong partnerships.
