Finding “Not” Four-Year Talent: Why Apprenticeships Are the Next Big Thing
Description:
Recently, an emphasis was placed on developing professional “early in career talent” through internships. Although that work is important, we’ve neglected to replicate that effort for those who don’t go to universities and opt to work with their hands instead. During this session, we will discuss the rise and importance of apprenticeships. Learning Objectives: Understand the importance of creating and identifying skilled trade talent, and gain knowledge on starting steps for building a apprenticeship program. Create strategic partnerships with local community colleges and trade schools in order to utilize their resources to train and develop technical talent. Speak confidently about why apprenticeships are the next big thing, utilizing data and statistics that senior level leaders will understand and value.
