Putting It All Out There: Lessons From Launching a Public First-Destination Dashboard

As the value of higher education is increasingly called into question, alumni career success becomes more relevant. Although most institutions seem to favor static reports and infographics to share first-destination outcomes, the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota decided to “put it all out there.” In August 2019, we hit “publish” on an interactive “Alumni Outcomes” online dashboard. Session attendees will learn from a case study of a college that doesn’t “have it all together” when it comes to gathering and reporting first-destination data, but does see the value of showing students concrete examples of the liberal arts advantage.
