Career Strategies: Preparing Students With Learning Disabilities for the World of Work
Description:
With today’s heightened awareness of differences in our backgrounds, education, skills, and experiences, now is the time to evaluate how we, as institutions of higher learning, are helping to level the playing field for neurodiverse students. For these individuals, we need to ask ourselves if we are simply prolonging an unprepared exodus into the working world, or if we are providing valuable tools, skills, and experiences that will connect the dots between their academic learning and meaningful work. Participants who attend this seminar will learn ways to build career-ready skills within academic curriculum while addressing various learning styles and challenges.
