Teaching Competencies Using Data and Science: A Case Study on Presentation Skills
Description:
This presentation is designed to showcase how science can be used to teach a professional development skill, such as communication. Using a case study, we will demonstrate the science behind how the brain takes in and processes information and why knowing that will make you a better speaker. We delve into what working memory is, what its limits are, and why we need to adjust our presentations to be more effective speakers. This presentation is for any individual who wants to improve his or her own presentation skills, and especially for those who want to teach others how to present.
