    • Summary

      Facilitated by NACE Coaching Faculty, this self-paced, on-demand workshop allows attendees to learn effective coaching techniques to use with groups as well as individuals, learn how to select and apply the technique best suited for their clients, and gain insight into the latest trends and tactics in career coaching. Appropriate for practitioners at all levels, the NACE Career Coaching Intensive will help career coaches empower students in their career development and job search.

      Following program completion, a one-hour debrief will be scheduled with a NACE Coaching Faculty member to review and assess program assignments. Using feedback gained, learners will develop an action plan for continued professional development.

      Following this program, you will be able to:

      • Define career coaching;
      • Describe the foundation of coaching;
      • Examine the history of coaching;
      • Develop an understanding of coaching competencies and ethical standards; 
      • Explore key concepts of the coaching process;
      • Differentiate between coaching and counseling;
      • Explain the impact of language in the coaching process;
      • Examine the structure of coaching;
      • Use coaching strategies for individuals and groups; and
      • Identify areas for continued development as a coaching practitioner.

      This workshop is available virtually through the NACE Learning Platform. Following program completion, a one-hour, virtual debrief will be scheduled with a NACE Coaching Faculty member to review and assess the program assignments. The online knowledge assessment may be taken after the debrief.

    • Event Details

      Participants can access virtual modules through the NACE Learning Platform.

      Upon completion of the prework contact NACE Professional Development at educationrequest@naceweb.org to schedule your faculty debrief. Upon verification of completion, NACE will coordinate and communicate details related to the faculty debriefing session.

      Participants may immediately complete the associated Knowledge Assessment following participation in the required faculty debrief. There is no additional cost for the faculty debrief session or Knowledge Assessment completion. At this time, all NACE programming is delivered in English.

      Cancellations

      Can I transfer my registration for on-demand courses in the NACE Learning Platform?

      For on-demand courses within the NACE Learning Platform, transfers will be granted if the following is true:

      • The registrant has not started the session;
      • A request is received within 15 days of purchase; and
      • A request in writing is provided to events@naceweb.org.

      Sessions in progress are ineligible for transfers, refunds, and/or cancellations.

      Heather Maietta

      Heather Maietta is the National Director of Training and Talent for reacHIRE, a talent solution for companies supporting the career re-entry of mid-career professionals. Prior to this, she worked in the training, development, and strategy function in Higher Education for over 15 years, most recently at Merrimack College as Associate Vice-President of Career and Corporate Engagement. Heather is the owner of Career in Progress, a private career and professional development coaching business for all ages and stages. Heather is also a NACE Coaching Faculty member and a Career Development Facilitator instructor.

      Knowledge Assessment: Upon successful completion and participation in the NACE Career Coaching Intensive, named registrants who wish to receive a certificate of completion will be provided instructions to complete the online NACE Career Coaching Intensive Knowledge Assessment. The assessment consists of 25 multiple-choice and true/false questions.

      Attendees scoring an 88 percent or better on the assessment will receive the NACE Career Coaching Intensive Certificate of Completion. Successful completion of the workshop and obtaining the certificate of completion can be used in part (7.5 hours) to meet the training requirements for the Board Certified Coach credential offered through the Center for Credentialing and Education.
