All Careers Have Social Impact: Integration of Career Education and Civic Engagement
Description:
Increasingly, colleges and universities are relocating civic engagement programs under the umbrella of career services. This integration has the potential to dramatically strengthen the depth of reflection, preparation, and community exposure that students experience as they launch their career journeys. At Wellesley College, we have developed a program that fully integrates these two models, drawing best practices from each field. In this presentation, we will discuss why a truly integrated civic engagement program based in career services is an emerging best practice in the development of future employees for all industries that employ ethical, experienced, and empathic critical thinkers.
