This presentation will focus on the benefits of fostering a collaborative countywide partnership to grow and develop a skilled work force. In Polk County, Florida, the Polk Vision/Central Florida Development Council Talent Pipeline Committee established a work group which includes representatives from a dozen post-secondary and educational institutions, including the public school district, economic development organizations, area employers, and professional and community organizations. These relationships are focused on growing a skilled, educated talent pipeline to encourage business growth and provide ample career opportunities for students. The presentation will show that our students and employers are better served when we work collaboratively.
