Engaging Students and Employers in Discussions on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion
Description:
Equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) are important values for many students that must be embedded in their educational events and programming. The way the topic is addressed is crucial to determining how students react and respond to the subject matter. As a result of several years of development, coupled with the implementation of numerous events focused on EDI, we were able to identify successful strategies that not only provide high-value educational opportunities but that also engage students and industry professionals with the subject matter/content. In this presentation, we will share what has been learned from planning these events and teach participants how they can offer EDI programming of their own that is comprehensive and impactful.
