TIPS FOR WRITING GOOD LEARNING OBJECTIVES Write three learning objectives from the perspective of the student (not your presentation objectives). Make objectives action- or results-oriented, using leading words like apply, analyze, discuss, develop, examine, explore, identify, recognize, and so forth. Avoid passive words like learn, understand, and know. Answer this question to help you craft your objectives: What will the student know or be able to do after attending the session? (For example: Design marketing tools to attract students, NOT—Learn techniques to design marketing tools.) Make sure that you can deliver on the objectives you choose!
