The Examining the Coaching Culture three-part webinar series analyzes the increased use of coaching strategies by organizations that yield significant impact and positive results in employee engagement, motivation, and high performance. Attendees will differentiate between the role of the internal coach and the external coach while expanding their knowledge of the change process.
Participants will examine how a behavioral based coaching approach leads to improved performance and employee engagement while defining the key components of a coaching culture. Through this webinar, participants will also develop an understanding of the benefits of coaching as they relate to inspiring a shared vision and innovations in thinking and learning.
Following this program, you will be able to:
Participants will identify and recognize barriers to the coaching process that exist within organizations and describe coaching models that mitigate barriers leading to increased employee engagement. Review of organizational scenarios will provide the opportunity for attendees to engage in construction of coaching strategies that resolve conflict and enhance productivity.
Participants will learn to define and describe components of the change process within organizations and articulate how coaching and establishment of a coaching culture leads to positive change on an individual and organizational level. Attendees will identify coaching techniques which move employees through the stages of change recognizing that coaching is a partnership for co-creation of ideas and resolutions.

Heather Maietta, National Director, Training and Talent, reacHire
Heather Maietta is the National Director of Training and Talent for reacHIRE, a talent solution for companies supporting the career re-entry of mid-career professionals. Prior to this, she worked in the training, development, and strategy function in Higher Education for over 15 years, most recently at Merrimack College as Associate Vice-President of Career and Corporate Engagement. Heather is the owner of Career in Progress, a private career and professional development coaching business for all ages and stages. Heather is also a NACE Coaching Faculty member and a Career Development Facilitator instructor. She can be reached at email@example.com.
Julie Swaner, Career Coach, Transition Consultant, Resume Expertise
Formerly the Director of Alumni Career Programs at the University of Utah, Julie retired in June 2016 after 15 years in that position. Julie’s career embodies interests and passions as pivot points for career change and movement. Her first job after graduation from the University of Utah was as a flight attendant for Pan Am flying all international destinations. Her passion was travel and foreign languages. She visited every continent except Antarctica and can say “please” and “thank you” in 20 languages. She then morphed into an owner of a small culinary business in CT doing extensive off-premise catering and stocking a boutique store with great goods. After returning to Utah in 2000, she became interested in workplace issues and connecting the dots in career choices.
Julie is certified to administer assessment tests in Personal Directions®, MBTI®, and the Strong Interest Inventory® and has worked on assessments with NACE.
Julie coached clients to achieve their career goals and to implement plans for career fulfillment or career change. She worked with all kinds of clients from returning mothers to the workforce to executive level directors. Her mission was to ease suffering for those who faced downsizing, firings, or unexpected change.
She received a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from the University of Utah and an MBA from the University of Connecticut and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy at the University of Utah.
