    • Summary

      The NACE Assessments for Coaching Intensive I workshop provides attendees the opportunity to dive deep into to the world of coaching assessments. Learners will gain a solid understanding of available assessments such as 360, DISC, Strengths Finder, Meyers Briggs, and Emotional Intel among others to identify client strengths. Through use of appropriate assessment strategies learners will appropriately align assessment results to the coaching plan.

      Following this program, you will be able to:

      • Identify existing factors affecting the coaching process: client support system, attitude and social factors;
      • Establish appropriate goals based on client preference and assessment results;
      • Evaluate assessment tools for purpose, appropriateness, and accessibility;
      • Assist client in correlating stated goals and current state; and
      • Select appropriate assessments based on client scenario review.

      Cancellations

      You can receive a full refund less a 5 percent administrative fee if you cancel your registration at least 15 days prior to the beginning of the Assessments for Coaching Intensive I workshop. Your request must be in writing and should be directed to events@naceweb.org. Cancellation requests made less than 15 days prior to the start of the event/program are not refundable. However, a credit equal to the value of the cancelled registration will be issued and will be valid for 12 months from the date of issue.       Julie Swaner

      Julie Swaner, Ph.D., Career Coach/Transition Consultant/ Résumé Expertise

      Formerly, Director of Alumni Career Programs at the University of Utah, Julie retired in June 2016 after 15 years in that position. Julie’s career embodies interests and passions as pivot points for career change and movement. Her first job after graduation from the University of Utah was as a Flight Attendant for Pan Am flying all international destinations. Her passion was travel and foreign languages. She visited every continent except Antarctica and can say “please” and “thank you” in 20 languages. She then morphed into an owner of a small culinary business in CT doing extensive off-premise catering and stocking a boutique store with great goods. Her passion was food and wine. And after returning to Utah in 2000, she became interested in workplace issues and connecting the dots in career choices. Her passion was ‘right livelihood.’

      Julie is certified to administer assessment tests in Personal Directions®, MBTI®, and the Strong Interest Inventory® and has worked on assessments with NACE.

      Julie coached clients to achieve their career goals and to implement plans for career fulfillment or career change. She worked with all kinds of clients from returning mothers to the workforce to executive level directors.  Her mission was so ease suffering for those who faced downsizing, firings, or unexpected change. 

      Julie has always been an active member of the community, both professionally and socially, wherever she has residing.

      She received a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from the University of Utah and an MBA from the University of Connecticut and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy at the University of Utah.

      BCC

      Knowledge Assessment: Upon successful completion and participation in the NACE Assessments for Coaching Intensive I, named registrants who wish to receive a certificate of completion will be provided instructions to complete the online NACE Assessments in Coaching Intensive I Knowledge Assessment. The assessment consists of 25 multiple-choice and true/false questions.

      Attendees scoring an 88 percent or better on the assessment will receive the NACE Assessments for Coaching Intensive I Certificate of Completion. Successful completion of the workshop and obtaining the certificate of completion can be used in part (7.5 hours) to meet the training requirements for the Board-Certified Coach credential offered through the Center for Credentialing and Education.
