Presenters
Mary Gatta, Director of Research and Public Policy, NACE
Mary Gatta, Ph.D., is the director of research and policy at the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), where she leads research on the employment of the college educated, and forecasts hiring and trends in the job market; tracks starting salaries, recruiting and hiring practices, and student attitudes and outcomes; and identifies best practices and benchmarks. She has more than 20 years of teaching, research, and advocacy experience working on issues of career education and workforce development in colleges and nonprofit associations.
Prior to joining NACE, Dr. Gatta served as an associate professor of sociology at City University of New York-Guttman and faculty director of the Ethnographies of Work program. In addition, she was the research director at the Rutgers University Center for Women and Work and a senior scholar at Wider Opportunities for Women in Washington D.C. She has written numerous books, articles, and policy papers on education and work. Dr. Gatta also served on NJ Governor Phil Murphy's Labor and Workforce Development Transition Team. She holds a bachelor’s degree in social science from Providence College and a master’s degree and doctorate in sociology from Rutgers University.
Jennifer Lasater, Vice President, Student and Career Advancement, Purdue University Global
As Vice President of Student and Career Advancement, Jennifer collaborates with academics, students, and employers to ensure successful graduate outcomes. Before joining Purdue Global, she held various roles in Career Services and has a background in recruiting and staffing. Jen is considered a national expert in Career Services and has been quoted for career-related articles in US News and World Report, Fast Company, CNBC, Inside Higher Ed, and the Chicago Tribune. She has presented/served on panels for national conferences and events at ASU-GSV, the Chronicle for Higher Education, CAEL, NACE, and UPCEA. Jennifer is an active National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) member, elected to the Board of Directors, and served as President of NACE from 2020 to 21. Ms. Lasater was most recently honored for her work with NACE with the Kauffman Award in 2024.
Angelena Galbraith, Researcher, NACE
Angelena Galbraith is a researcher at the National Association of Colleges and Employers. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Pennsylvania State University in 2015 and her Master of Psychology Evaluation Research and Measurement from Capella University in 2018. At NACE, Galbraith designs and helps conduct surveys, analyzes data, leads the First Destinations and Internship & Co-op Reports, and builds interactive dashboards using Power BI.
