  Are you an office of one or two? Are you interested in gaining the coaching skills and strategies needed to help your students reframe their thinking about the career development process?

  Join NACE for Virtual Career Coaching Intensive! In this two-day content rich webcast, you’ll learn effective coaching techniques to use with groups as well as individuals, learn how to select and apply the technique best suited for your clients, and gain insight into leading practices in career coaching. Appropriate for practitioners at all levels, the Career Coaching Intensive will empower you to effectively support your students in the career development process.

  Following this program, you will be able to:

  • Examine the history of coaching;
  • Develop an understanding of coaching competencies and ethical standards;
  • Explore key concepts of the coaching process;

  Cheryl Hicks, Associate Director, Wake Forest University - Office of Personal & Career Development

  Cheryl Hicks is an associate director of diversity and inclusion programming in the Office of Personal & Career Development at Wake Forest University (WFU). In this role, she serves as a liaison between the on-campus departments of the Intercultural Center and Magnolia Scholars. Hicks leads planning of the signature event "Diversity Matters" and other diversity programs, including "The Coach Is In" and "Black Professionals Forum." She has represented WFU by presenting on diversity and inclusion topics at several industry conferences. Hicks currently serves on the SoACE Board as Director of College Knowledge Groups and past Director of Diversity and Inclusion, past executive board member for NCACE, and a member of the People of Color Affinity Group for NACE. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas A&M University and a master's degree in higher education administration from Northeastern University. This is her sixth academic year at Wake Forest University.
