  Join NACE at the Virtual Coaching for Diverse Populations event!

  Course Content Areas

  • Understanding diversity and unconscious bias;
  • The coaching process, the impact of questions, and listening skills; and
  • The role of diversity and unconscious bias in the coaching process.

  Following this program, you will be able to:

  • Discuss and understand the four types of diversity: internal, external, organizational, and worldview;
  • Regarding unconscious bias, examine the definition of unconscious bias and strategies to be aware of one’s own unconscious bias;
  • After gaining a foundation on diversity and unconscious bias, study the role of the coaching process, fundamentals of building rapport with the coachee, how to acutely listen and be present in the moment to hear what the coachee is saying, yet also observe nonverbal communication of the coachee;
  • Identify the qualities and skills of an inclusive coach, and the safe practices that are developed in the coaching relationship; and
  • Determine how flexible and adaptable the approach to coaching is, and the communication involved and carried out.

  Knowledge Assessment: Upon successful completion and participation in the NACE Coaching for Diverse Populations workshop, named registrants who wish to receive a certificate of completion will be provided instructions to complete the online NACE Coaching for Diverse Populations Knowledge Assessment. The assessment consists of 25 multiple-choice and true/false questions.

  Attendees scoring an 88 percent or better on the assessment will receive the NACE Coaching for Diverse Populations Certificate of Completion. Successful completion of the workshop and obtaining the certificate of completion can be used in part (7.5 hours) to meet the training requirements for the Board Certified Coach credential offered through the Center for Credentialing and Education.

• Format

  During this full day webcast, presenters will deliver a synchronized audio and PowerPoint presentation through direct instruction. Participants will have time for live Q&A throughout the program and may be asked to contribute opinions or feedback via live chat, virtual polling, and other mechanisms.

  Please note, this session will not be recorded or available following the session as on-demand offering.
