    Join NACE leadership and Career Readiness Project co-founder Randy Bitting from SkillSurvey as they present findings and analysis from this two-year project.

    The project involved the assessment of 36,000+ student evaluations by 60,000 supervisors and coworkers at 10,000+ companies on the extent to which students engaged in 30 behaviors linked to the NACE career readiness competencies during an internship, co-op, or student employment.

    Over the course of project, the NACE teamed up with SkillSurvey and 150+ NACE-member institutions to validate specific, observable behaviors embedded in a proven HR platform developed by I/O psychologists. This proof-of-concept project resulted in the successful validation of behaviors, marking a significant and essential milepost in advancing evidence-based career readiness initiatives for our profession.

    Following this program, you will be able to:

    • Identify competencies employers deem “most essential” and compare with student proficiency levels based on evaluator ratings with student self-assessment ratings;
    • Explore how participating students compare to the project’s large national sample of other students and 87,000 job candidates rated on the same behaviors;
    • Gain insight into how competency development differed between in-person and virtual internships; and
    • Learn how participating institutions leveraged the study’s assessment data to develop and support students’ competency development and awareness.
