As university relations and recruiting professionals, we can create relationships with underclassmen by sharing our company’s brand and exploring opportunities available throughout their college career. At Vanguard, we have created a program to attract and identify early talent called EXPLORE. The one-day event provides students with a realistic job preview; a glimpse into our industry and corporate culture; and a chance to develop professionally through customizable workshops, presentations, and networking forums with professionals across the organization. For employers, the program creates a diverse pool of talent for recruiting relationships and contributes to retention efforts. For attendees, those who spent several hours exploring our organization felt confident in their post-graduate commitment to it.
Following this program, you will be able to:
- Apply a plan to engage stakeholders from across the organization;
- Construct an early talent identification program and find ways to customize the day to match the needs of the target audience and attract diverse talent to the event; and
- Identify how to leverage data from the event to not only measure success, but to also improve future recruiting, branding, and event-planning strategies.
